Dixi 'Enchanted' Previews

Hi everyone!

By now, most of you know about the love I have for Dixi. This week, they kindly sent me these preview photos of their new collection - Enchanted - to share with you all. This collection features mystic stones, crystals and jewels that will captivate you. The colours that seem to be dominating this collection are shades of blues and greens. So pretty. Most of these jewellery pieces are one off selections, in order to ensure that their customers are unique and stand out in a crowd! In the new collection, there will also be a special selection of vintage clothing.

These photos are just a small preview of what will be in store as from next Sunday 30th September, at around 10 am (UK time). I have already put my eyes on the blue striped and polka dot dress, the pointy cuff, and the deep blue stone ring. Which are your favourites from this preview? I am so looking forward to see the other items. It surely looks like an enchanting collection!

Dixi are also offering a FREE UK shipping code - BLOGGERDISC - to you all, which can be used on any purchase of £15 or over, and is valid for 7 days (from Sunday 30th September till Sunday 7th October).

Happy Shopping!

Store Spotlight • Once a Week Chic

Hi everyone!

Today I came across this new online fashion website - Once a Week Chic - and decided to share it with you as I think the idea behind it is quite good. The goal of this company is to bring the current most wanted pieces in a single look that's complete from head to toe, but keeping the cost in mind.

How does this work?
Once a week, they combine an outfit that lasts for a whole week (or until the look sells out). Once each looks sells out, they combine a new outfit. Each outfit, including top, bottom, shoes and accessories, can be bought for $149 (around £92/116). However, one can also purchase individual items.

A plus is that Once a Week Chic ship worldwide, and for all of you readers from the US, shipping is free, with no minimum purchases. With regards to the rest of the world, they offer a standard flat rate of $19.95.

Casual Friday

This week's look is called Casual Friday. It consists of black skinny pants, a top that has a slit in the back with a sheer panel, a statement necklace, ring and bracelet, red pumps, and a gorgeous tan handbag. It can be purchased as a whole set for $149, or else you can buy each piece individually. I also discovered that items in this look are up to 25% off retail! Great.

What do you think about this new take on online shopping? I am so looking forward to see what outfits Once a Week Chic will combine each week!

Motel Rocks Street Team

Hi everyone!

Today, the lovely Laura, who is in charge of the Motel Street Team, announced that Motel Rocks have reached over 1000 teamers. That is one big fashionable team. Instead of writing a long paragraph stating why I love being in the Street Team, I decided to construct a Motel Rocks Street Team alphabet, because pictures (in this case, short words) speak louder than chunks of paragraphs. This alphabet explains what it means to be part of the Motel Street Team, and therefore why I love being in this team.

I guess you got my point right? :)

Don't forget that you lovely readers can benefit from a whopping 20% discount on your Motel Rocks purchases by using the code 'annalisegrech' at checkout.

Street Style • London Fashion Week (September 2012)

Hi everyone!

I love browsing the net, especially during fashion weeks, in order to see what people are wearing and maybe even what new trends they are trying to get out there. This week was no different. I have seen numerous street style photos of the current London Fashion Week, and found some looks that I really love. These photos show some outfits of what fashionistas were wearing on the streets of London for the Fashion Week.

Apart from those risky fashionistas, the majority of men wore suits, blazers, shirts, and chinos. They all, however, added their own touch to the outfit, either by wearing a scarf, a bag, or even a bow tie. Common items in the outfits women wore were prints (mostly crashed prints), collared tops and blouses, hats, and even knit tops.

Which is your favourite LFW street style outfit combination? I can't even decide which one I like best.

I need all these outfits in my life (even the ones men are wearing).

Review • e.l.f Makeup Remover Pen

Hi everyone!

I'm going to share with you my current favourite makeup bag/handbag item - the e.l.f Makeup Remover Pen. I purchased this pen last March, but have only started using it recently, simply because I did not know that it works wonders. This Makeup Remover Pen, as it's name implies, removes makeup smudges and mistakes instantly, without having to take off the rest of your makeup. Genius. I now throw it in my makeup bag or else in my small purse/handbag, and voila', I can touch up any eyeliner and mascara smudges instantly, wherever I am. You just need to sweep the pen onto the makeup smudges, and they disappear instantly. This pen is infused with Vitamin E, Cucumber and Chamomile that help to moisturize and condition the skin. So this another plus.

e.l.f Makeup Remover Pen (£3.75)

The only downside of this product is the fact that it's tip remains stained with makeup after use, even though the directions on the packaging box state that one should clean the tip with a tissue after each use (I did this after each use and the tip still remained stained). However, I discovered that the tip of the pen can be pulled out and one can use the other side once it is way too stained or if it is not doing it's job right anymore.

The e.l.f Makeup Remover Pen is definitely a must repurchase item from my end. It has made my life much easier!

Overall Rating: 8/10

Celeb Style • Kourtney Kardashian

Hi everyone!

Today I decided to share with you all one of my style crushes - Kourtney Kardashian. If not the whole outfit, Kourtney Kardashian always has that one item that I wholeheartedly wish it was mine. I especially love the fact that she mixes her wardrobe items in order to create different outfits. Most of the time, Kourtney wears neutrals, blacks, and earth colours, which also happen to be my favourite outfit colours.  However, there are times when she even puts in a touch of bright colours to her outfits.

I have put together two outfits that are more or less similar to what Kourtney is wearing, but for a fraction of her total outfit cost. In this way, we can treat ourselves to outfits in Kourtney's style, while also treating our beloved wallet!

     Outfit #1
Get the Look - Kourtney Kardashian #1

To get this look, simply wear a coral patterned playsuit teamed with a white/cream blazer. Team them with a tan t-bar strap sandals and a small black chain handbag to steel Kourtney's style.

Outfit #2
Get the Look - Kourtney Kardashian #2

This look can be easily achieved with key pieces that nearly every fashionista owns. Simply wear a dark blue chinos, top and scarf, together with leopard print flats, black chain handbag, and a black waist belt. Finish off the look by wearing a black crop top with puffed shoulders, or short peplum coat to create the Kourtney look.

Who is your celeb style crush?

Street Style • New York Fashion Week (September 2012)

Hi everyone!

In order to keep with the theme of what everybody is currently talking about - New York Fashion Week - I decided to dedicate a post on the Street Style at this Fashion Week. The photos attached to this post give an idea of what fashionistas on the streets of New York wore to impress and even stand out from the crowd at the Fashion Week. What the majority of females seemed to be wearing were bright colours, black, and even patterns. Men mostly went for a classic tailored suit, either paired with suit trousers, or else with jeans. Checked pattern, be it in the suit, shirt, or tie pattern, was dominant in menswear.

September Wishlist

Hi lovelies!

Every month, I keep a list of what I would mostly like to add to my closet (be it clothes, shoes, jewellery, accessories or beauty items) during that particular month. We started a new month (I know I'm a bit late on this), and so, a new wishlist was on my to do list! Today, I finally managed to form my September one. As you can see from the items I chose, I'm well over Summer. It is still very hot in my country, and I can't wait till I start wearing my blazers, boots, chunky knit cardigans and scarves, even though I'll probably not wear them till around November. Anyways, enough of my ramblings. This is what I would love to buy during September...

Are any of these items on your wishlist too? I am so in love with all of them that I can't even choose a favourite. Well then, I must get them all!

Mailbox #2

Hi everyone!

After quite a substantial number of days analysing which products I should buy from MUA Cosmetics, I finally did it, and boy it felt so good! I was excited to receive the items I chose from the second I bought them, mainly because this was the first time I was buying from MUA, but also due to the very cheap prices and good reviews their products receive. When I bought the items, MUA had a bank holiday offer going on. This meant that with every £10 spent, one got 3 free products. These were the eyedust in shade 6, the extreme volume mascara in shade 2 black/brown, and the siren false lashes.

I was getting quite impatient waiting for my package to arrive since I had ordered my items around two and a half weeks ago. Today was the day though, my beloved package finally reached my home. These are the items I bought:

Eyedust Shade 6 - FREE (£1)
False Lashes Siren - FREE (£2)

Have you ever bought any items from MUA? What is your experience using their products? I'm so looking forward to try them all out. I will then review each product I bought in another post once I have used them for a number of times.

Designer vs Deal #1

We all love designer pieces, even though our wallets don't. Today I decided to write a post on designer versus deal finds. The items that I found look more or less identical, but which would you rather wear or buy, the designer or the deal?

Street Style • Military Trend

Our wardrobes are surely going to be filled with military-inspired pieces this fall, including leather pants, earth tone blouses and shirts, and military green jackets and coats.  This is after fashion designers presented this trend on various catwalks. Feminine touches, such as bags, boots, and a number of jewellery and accessories, will complete this military-inspired trend.

Mailbox #1

Hi everyone!

I have been looking for the perfect knuckle ring for ages, as I am quite a choosy person. About 2 weeks ago, I was looking through the Dixi website for the millionth time, since I totally love their stuff, and there it was...the perfect Dejana Twisted Above the Knuckle Ring. There were 3 choices of rings - a silver twisted one, a gold twisted one, and a plain band ring. I decided that I wanted the silver twisted one, as I loved it's texture, and I am currently trying to increase my silver jewellery pieces since all I see in my jewellery box is gold, gold, and even more gold items. I quickly scrolled down the page to add this ring to my cart, and was even more happier to find out that this came in a pack of 2 rings. However, when I came to choose the style, there was only the gold ring available, and my happiness decreased drastically.

Fortunately, around 2 days after this, Dixi posted their Ebay link on their Twitter page, and I decided to check it out. There were some gorgeous Dixi jewellery, a few clothing and footwear items, and my most sought-after twisted knuckle ring....and they had it in silver!!!! I immediately bought it, and after around a week of anxiously waiting for the postman to deliver this package, I received it today! My first impression when I opened the package was a 'wow', since the rings looked even prettier in real life. Even though they looked quite small for my fingers, they fit me well. I am so happy with this purchase, and I can't wait to wear these with even more rings.

I love budget buys, so I was thinking, why don't I write a blog post and challenge myself to find 10 fashion and beauty items that cost £10 or less each? And that's what I did. I made sure that I got these items from online stores that ship worldwide, so that everything is accessible to anyone of you :) Each item is linked below so that if you like anything, you can easily be directed to its website. Motel Street Team Styling Task

As you might know, I am part of the Motel Rocks Street Team. Last week, we were given a Festival Styling Task...all we had to do was to create a set on Polyvore or Pinterest including our favourite Motel Rocks clothes that we would wear to a festival. I decided to create a grunge/rock look by combining aztec prints, studs and leather. This is what I came up with…
