Inspiration Friday #1

Hi everyone!

Even though I spent half of this week helping mum to finish her Christmas shopping and the rest of the week enjoying the festive season with my family, I still somehow managed to slot in some time to browse the very addicting Tumblr and Pinterest accounts. Below are a fraction of the images that have inspired me - fashion-wise - during the past week. I hope that you get inspired by them as much as they inspired me!

If you like what you see, make sure you follow me on Tumblr and Pinterest - I use my accounts nearly every day, so you will definitely get your daily dose of fashion.

Store Spotlight • Shop Jeen

Hi everyone!

Welcome to my first Store Spotlight post, where I will be introducing you to a recently discovered store on Mondays. This week's post is all about Shop Jeen - an NYC based online store which caters for rad males and females of all ages, including babies! This amazing store stocks unique pieces (including non-fashion items) which are quite hilarious and not easily available in other stores. And that's what I mostly love about Shop Jeen, as I hate seeing a million other people wearing the same tee/shoes/jewellery as myself.

With prices ranging from $1.00 for a pack of novelty gum to $1000.00 for a Swarovski embellished necklace, Shop Jeen surely has something for everyone. Check out what items I'm mostly loving from this store below:

Do you like any of the items above? Have you ever heard of/purchased anything from Shop Jeen?
Let me know in the comments below.

OOTD • Schoolgirl

Hi everyone!

I recently received this grey floral print pullover from Persunmall. It's not something I would generally wear, as I usually consider florals too girly for my style. But I somehow loved the purple and blue flower print, and I don't have the slightest guilt that I got it! Apart from it's pretty print, I love how soft the inside of the jumper is. Perfect for the cold winter days!

I wore the jumper over one of my favourite dresses, a gorgeous navy and green tartan dress from Mod Dolly. I know you can't quite appreciate the gorgeousness of the dress, but I'm sure you will properly see it in another outfit post. To give the outfit a bit of an edge - while also looking even more like a schoolgirl - I wore a pair of black over-the-knee socks, and my DMs.

Over-the-knee socks: Primark // Boots*: Dr Martens via Motel Rocks

Now who doesn’t love collaborating with other bloggers, especially if she’s the gorgeous Mariel from Polydeux. I’m not even joking, this girl is a style icon. She has the most amazing style ever! Anyways, Mariel and I came up with a list consisting of our must-have AW 13 trends. Surprisingly enough – or rather we had no doubt about this – tartan made it to the top of our list, with the Tildon Plaid Infinity Scarf and this Red Rihanna Tartan Tapered Trousers being my favourite tartan picks. While I showed you how I styled my favourite tartan dress in the above photos, Mariel styled her tartan dress in 4 different ways. Check out her post here, I’m sure you will love her too.

What do you think of our outfits? How would you style your favourite tartan dress?

Jumpsuit Love

Hi everyone!
I don't know about you, but I have a very strong relationship with jumpsuits and playsuits. I mean, they always save my day - when I'm having one of those lazy moments - as I will not need to put a whole outfit together. Consequently, I merely put on some jewellery, and a jacket if it's winter, and voilà‎, I'm good to go.

Designer vs Deal #8

Hi everyone!

After a 5 month absence, I thought that another Designer vs Deal post was in order. And so it happened. Once again, I came across numerous pieces - being clothes, shoes, accessories, and the like - which are very similar to their designer counterparts. I found way too many pieces, so I obviously couldn't include them all in this post. But I promise you that I will try to post these posts more regularly.

Designer: UNIF NEO boots // Jeffrey Campbell Lita Crown shoe // House of Holland On a Promise Sunglasses
Deal: H&M Platform boots // Grunge Up Golden Spiked Boots // Choies Vintage Circle Sunglasses With White Letters

Almost every blogger - and every other person on Earth - has seen, or heard of the famous chunky H&M boots, which remind us so much of the precious 90s. While browsing the Net, I stumbled across UNIF's NEO boots, which are pretty similar to the H&M ones if you compare the silver side zips and ripped padding on the front of the boots. As much as I love UNIF pieces, I personally prefer the H&M ones this time, as I think they are much more wearable and not as much of a statement piece.

And speaking of statement shoes, how identical is the Golden Spiked boots from LASULA Boutique to the Jeffrey Campbell ones? The similarity is mind-blowing! The only difference I can pinpoint between the two pairs, except for the price difference, is that the former's heel looks a tad thinner than the Jeffrey Campbell boots. But then again, photos may be deceiving.

Another designer-twin is the Circle sunglasses by Choies, which feature the famous words "Cross my heart..Hope to Die. Stick a Needle..In my Eye". The only thing I question is how sturdy the cheaper version is, even though I don't even have a clue on the endurance of the House of Holland pair. But then again, I don't generally splurge on sunglasses. So, I would definitely opt for the cheaper version.

Which would you rather buy, the designer piece or it's affordable dupe? If there is a designer piece that you love so much but cannot afford it and want a dupe of it, get in touch with me through Facebook or Twitter, or else send me an email, and I'll include the dupe in my next Designer vs Deal post!

How I Style • BLACK MILK x SOLESTRUCK

Hi everyone!

Giant Australian manufacturers of awesome printed leggings, swims, tops and skirts - Black Milk - have recently teamed up with Solestruck just "Cuz they're hot as, duh. I mean have you seen these people? They've got it goin' on. Also, they specialize in sometimes improbable, always fantastic footwear. We feel that awesome shoes are 100% necessary, 100% of the time. So we figured it was our duty, our responsibility, to give the peeps at Solestruck a call and get a collection together.

These companies came up with 4 shoe styles and 5 breathtakingly beautiful designs, and they claim that this was their "BEST DECISION EVER". Without any doubt, I completely agree with their statement! What is super interesting is the fact that each pair of these amazing shoes was named after a Black Milk team member! How great is that?! I can only dream of having an awesome pair of shoes just like these named after myself...that would be the day!! :)
SHAK - Ballerina style meets towering heights and trademark Black Milk sassyness.
Cross Of St. Peter // You Make Me Sick // Crystals

CHARLIHidden wedge sneakers.
Woah Dude // Nylon Vs. Death // Cross Of St. Peter

CAM - Basic loafers in badass prints.
Crystals // Nylon Vs. Death // Woah Dude

JAMES - Badass Oxfords
Cross Of St. Peter // You Make Me Sick // Nylon Vs. Death

Being the shoe addict that I am, I loved each of the prints and styles since they are all pretty rad. However, my preference somewhat inclined towards the CAM style. I have therefore decided to put together 2 outfits to show you how I would style each CAM loafer.

For the first outfit, I opted for an all-black ensemble so as to keep all the attention on the shoes' print. I simply teamed a pair of black jeans with a thick knitted jumper, and layered the outfit with a leather jacket. For the accessories, I chose a black bobble hat and a pair of silver-toned weed earrings.
Top // Shorts // Coat // Bag

I decided to team the Nylon Vs. Death CAM loafer with a plain white box top, a pair of grey shorts, and a cosy woolen coat - perfect for the cold winter days. To give some colour to this monochrome outfit, I finished off the look with this gorgeous burgundy bag.

For a more casual look, I styled the Crystals CAM with a navy knitted jumpsuit. I know this jumpsuit looks very unflattering and shape-less, but I promise you it looks really nice on! To accessorise, I chose lots of silver rings to be stacked, a chunky silver necklace, and a two-tone lilac and navy clutch.

And if you loved this collab, I've got some good news for you! Black Milk and Solestruck are already working on another collection!! Launching early next year, the second collaboration collection will comprise a new shoes style, as well as brand new prints and fabrics!! So many exclamation marks in this paragraph!! But that is the only way I can express my excitement!! :)

Which Black Milk x Solestruck shoe design/print is your favourite, and how would you style it?

PEACE + LOVE

Hi everyone!

The Missguided Peace + Love collection has just launched online today, and I'm in love! Each piece in this collection is limited edition and exclusive to Missguided, making this collection even more amazing!

PEACE + LOVE captures the art of beautiful simplicity. Confident and knowing in essence, the clean aesthetic is evocative of peace.
The physical nature is constructed with a higher premium and assembled with love.

In my opinion, this collection is Missguided's best one to date. Each item is perfect, and something I would definitely wear. Which pieces are your favourite? Mine are the Erin leather dress, the Daria jumpsuit, and the Lizzie maxi dress.

Check out the rest of the PEACE + LOVE collection here.

OOTD • Bejeweled

Hi everyone!

I took some outfit photos last weekend as I got so many new things in the mail, and I wanted to wear them all right away. Does this happen to you as well? I always get a sudden urge to wear the things I get there and then!

Anyways... How stunning is this Western Punk Style Bag from Persunmall? I love the fact that it is adorned with so many pretty buttons and jewels! Being such a statement piece, I decided to team it up with an all-black ensemble layered with this amazing black and denim blazer I got from Runway Scout. For the shoes, I opted to wear my most recent addition to my shoe wardrobe - the Dr Martens 1460 8 Eye Boot in Smooth Black. I have been wanting this particular style for ages as I think they go well with dresses and trousers alike, so I have been wearing them practically everyday since I got them. They can't get anymore comfortable! As for the accessories, I simply wore my Romwe silver chunky chain necklace and a dainty heart ring from Accessorize.

Top: H&M // Jeans: Stradivarius // Denim Blazer*: Wilde Heart by Madison Square via Runway Scout // Belt: MRP
